HOME CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Post care for your professionally treated skin is very important to help deliver faster and better results.
FACIALS
- After any facial, avoid using on the skin any alcohol based product or bar soaps. These products will dry and damage the epidermal cells thus defeating the benefits of the facial treatment.
- Avoid using petroleum-based products since they prevent nutrients from absorbing into the skin.
- Do not wear make-up for the next hour. This will allow the penetration of nutrients to continue long after you have left the doctor’s office.
- Begin using the prescribed skin care regimen on the first evening after the facial. The prescribed chemical-free skin care products should be used twice daily.
- Do not use a scrub or exfoliant with particles on the skin for the next seven days. After the seventh day, it should be used once or twice weekly.
- A warm or tingling skin sensation may be experienced after a facial. This is normal.
PRODUCTS
- Use products prescribed by your aesthetician for your skin type for cleansing, toning and moisturizing. Products supplement regular visits to treat conditions such as acne, dryness and premature aging.
NATURAL FRUIT BASED CHEMICAL PEELS
- A peel exfoliates the skin’s epidermal surface forcing a quicker reproduction of younger, healthier cells.
- After a peel, avoid using on the skin any alcohol based product or bar soaps. These products will dry the epidermal cells giving the skin a flaky appearance or extended sensitivity.
- Do not wear make-up for the next two hours. This will allow the penetration of nutrients to continue long after you have left the office. This is most important to initiate the healing process.
- Begin using the prescribed skin care regimen on the first evening after the facial. The prescribed chemical-free skin care products should be used twice daily. Do not use a scrub or exfoliant with particles on the skin for the next ten days. Ask Dr. Pickens or your aesthetician when it is safe to have another peel.
- Avoid using petroleum-based products since they prevent nutrients from absorbing into the skin.
- A warm or tingling skin sensation may be experienced for 2-3 days after this treatment. This is normal.
- Since the new skin is tender and vulnerable, use a daily natural sun block. We recommend the Aroma Bella sun block.
