Dr. Pickens is certified as an advanced injector having been trained directly by trainers from the manufacturing companies of Botox Cosmetic®, Juvederm and Radiesse as well as other leaders in the field. She has been sought after by several clients for her expertise in these advanced techniques for molding and contouring areas of the face such as the nose, chin, cheeks, undereyes and lips. She is trained in rejuvenation procedures for the face, neck, and hands to correct photo damage, wrinkles and sagging skin all in the time it takes for a lunch break. Her surgical background and extensive treatment of clients with all skin tones has provided her an understanding of wound healing and skin care concerns peculiar to these clients. Knowing the challenges darker-skinned clients face when seeking resurfacing, anti-aging and hair removal procedures, she has searched extensively for technology such as the elos® technology that gives results both safely and effectively.

Her emergency medicine background has made her an expert at relieving pain and she states that Botox ® for the treatment of migraines, fibromyalgia, temporomandibular (TMJ) joint dysfunction and other chronic pain conditions is one of the most successful drugs she has used with the fewest side effects. Dr. Pickens’ quiet demeanor puts clients at ease but gives them a comfort level that fosters a willingness to make inquiries disclosing their concerns and desires. This allows her to make an individualized treatment plan to assist her clients in achieving their goals for healthy-appearing skin with reduced signs of aging.
